Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

As most of you know
we lost Benny in October.
I miss him EVERY SINGLE DAY.
We learned a huge lesson since we are still paying his cancer
treatment bills.
I would never change one thing.
You guys (Blog and Facebook friends) helped us TREMENDOUSLY
What I learned......
insurance!!!
Is what I learned.
My sick eye,
My sick belly
My poopy...
COVERED.
Thank you Healthy Paws
you will be my best friend forever.
We are both covered.

  2. That sounds like a great idea, especially considering the cost of vet care. We still think about Benny lots, can't imagine how much you do.

  4. We would never be without it. It might be a bit of a gamble but truthfully it is a necessity. Glad you both are covered. Have a marvellous Monday.

  5. Great advice. Truffles is the first cat I've ever adopted young enough for insurance to be an option so it's definitely something I'm looking into!

  8. We have never heard of this brand of insurance. We will look at it.. Most of them are too expensive to be worthwhile. BUTT you are RIGHT... if it has already covered so many thingys.

  10. We will never forget brave Benny. We are glad you have insurance to help with your medical costs. We don't have insurance but we have a vet who is a good family friend, so it is like having a different kind of insurance!

  12. We use to have it but found they seemed to keep covering less and less each time we used it (which wasn't very often) in the end it was costing more than the vet bills and they wouldn't cover any of Reilly's allergy stuff

  19. We all miss Benny too.Whenever we think of Thunder, Benny comes to mind. Their situations occurred about the same time and were so very similar. We will have to check out Healthy Paws - Mom is always looking for something like that.

  27. Bless Benny and his brave fight..we have no pet insurance as when we looked into it with four cats and two dogs all older the insurance would pay for a holiday house!! it was really expensive..unless you had a young animal etc and there was no benefit from having multiple pets..we would just find the money somehow if we needed it..they need to look more closely at it here in Australia :) hugs to you both Fozziemum xx

  28. I'm glad you had insurance. I waited too long and right now can't swing it. But I will sure keep it in mind for future pets!

  29. Excellent job on the insurance! Tallulah and Petunia are covered by Petplan. Isabelle could be covered but her pre-existing conditions would be excluded. A big thing to know about pet insurance is that pre-existing conditions are rarely covered. You need to have the policy underwritten immediately after buying which for us meant sending in all vet records for the last two years. The underwriters will determine what is covered and what is excluded. Sometimes it's life, sometimes it's for a year or two. If you aren't happy with the underwriting, you can usually cancel the policy without penalty.
Just like with human insurance, policies and companies are different. The humans need to do a lot of homework before picking one.
