Would You Bring Your Pet to An Ophthalmologist?

Ms. Joan asks:
Would you bring your pet to an ophthalmologist?

Mother:
Funny you asked...We went last week. Last year Lily had discharge from her eyes which turned into dry eye which recently occurred again.  It appeared to be caused by seasonal allergies. So...the answer is absolutely.

  2. We would definitely bring any of our pack if they needed to go, and they had one around us :-). Sometimes living in "the middle of nowhere" has its drawbacks.

  5. BOL! Sugar did see an eye doctor. Due to her age, her eyes are blurry and yes the discharge are only due to allergies. Golden Woofs

  9. Outstanding!!! Cammie went to an Ophthalmologist a long time ago - before she had her babies. Our breeder is very careful not to breed anyone who might have genetic eye problems. As part of our contract, I also had to go -- to make sure the "line" isn't carrying anything! Fortunately, there is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist right here at our "regular" vets -- KSU Ved Med Health Center. I went sometime after my first birthday. It was pretty awesome, as I recall. I got to meet TONS of people at the Ophthalmology department and everyone kept saying how good I was - especially for a Siberian Husky and especially for such a young one. That and that my eyes are wonderful. All of the above made my mom and my breeder both REALLY happy! I also should point out the most important part of going there --- I got TREATS.
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

  13. Oh yes, if we need a specialist, Mom would take us right away, just like she did with Ciara and her seizure issues. We are glad your eye doctor could help you too, Lily.

  14. I bet that vet was just as excited to see you! Thankfully, neither of my chi's has needed to go to the eye doctor. But I'd take them if I thought that they might need it.

  16. yay for that ophthalmologist lady who fixed your eye! My mom visited such a guy once too and to avoid that she has to wear glasses she tried to memorize all that letters on the sheet ... but then the ophthalmologist-guy switched the sheet and my mom was in the bucket :o)
