Bonjour Friends
Since we had a few quiet days, Mom going out without telling us and no words on Wednesday, we are bursting with energy. Learning is good so we decided to have our second French lesson today. As you may know I am on a diet. Therefore, what could be more appropriate than discussing food / aliments. La cuisine française. Lily and I are fond of food especially cheese/le fromage. I jump super high for provolone cheese, all the way up to mom's shoulder. It's called the cheese-effect. Other foods we enjoy are peanut butter (beurre de cacahuète), bananas (bananes) and chicken (poulet). What a coincidence momma & Deb went to the theatre to see the movie Julie & Julia. Those ladies loved to cook. Julia even lived in France. Her favorite dishes were Salade Nicoise and Ragout of Chicken. Wikipedia informed us that cheese and wine are a major part of the cuisine. Oh boy…now that's what I'm talking about cheese! In June 1940, Winston Churchill said, "A country producing almost 360 different types of cheese cannot die." I could barely count that high. Examples of French cheeses are Brie de Meaux, Munster Chabichou du Poitou and Pélardon. The younger furry friends may be more familiar with French fries, French toast, French beans, French dip, beignets and a French roll. Well friends, I hope you enjoyed your lesson for today. I am certain you have a favorite food that causes you to rev your engine the way cheese revs mine.
Luv and snorts,
Benny and Lily
PS Lily misbehaved in class.
Foodables are great regardless of country of origin, don't you think? I am loving your outfits. Very sophisticated.
